Aerospace Engineering | Minor in Robotics Engineering Expected May 2029 Languages: English, Bosnian/Serbian/Croatian GPA: 3.75 | WPI Men’s Varsity Soccer Relevant Coursework: Aerospace Control Systems, Aerospace Dynamics, Systems Programming in C, Algorithms RESEARCH & ENGINEERING EXPERIENCE GNC Airbrake Lead Winter 2025 - Present WPI High-Power Rocketry Club (HPRC) Worcester, MA ● Developed a quaternion-based Multiplicative Extended Kalman Filter (MEKF) in C++ , integrating IMU, GPS, and magnetometer measurements for real-time rocket attitude and state estimation for IREC 2026 ● Leading development of an LQR-based active-airbrake controller in MATLAB/Simulink , integrating CFD-derived aerodynamic coefficients into flight simulations to regulate drag and target a 30,000-ft apogee within ±1%. ● Placed 9th of 21 in 30K COTS and tied for 1st place in Build Quality score among 141 teams. Undergraduate Researcher Aug 2026 - Present Manipulation and Environmental Robotics (MER) Lab Worcester, MA ● Developed Python-based kinematic and visual-servoing models for a three-section, nine-tendon continuum robot, integrating piecewise constant-curvature (PCC) kinematics, Jacobians, and camera projection to model actuator-to-image-space motion. ● Designed and validated an actuation-aware velocity manipulability metric using singular value decomposition (SVD), directional image-space capability, and tendon actuation concentration; evaluated 500 configurations and conducted physical robot experiments using OpenCV tracking and a C++/ROS interface. ● Implemented a receding-horizon trajectory optimizer evaluating 45 candidate steering and null-space reconfiguration strategies, improving mean simulated time-to-target by 8.4% compared with baseline image-based visual servoing (IBVS) across 100 configurations. Student Intern May - August 2024 Mass Robotics Boston, MA ● Led a 5-person team in building an agricultural drone, integrating onboard cameras, sensors, and flight-control hardware to achieve 16 seconds of autonomous flight. ● Soldered and integrated camera electronics and sensor connections, troubleshooting electrical and communication issues during hardware assembly and flight testing. TECHNICAL PROJECTS Autonomous BB8 Spherical Robot | Computer Vision, Robotics, Embedded Systems, Linux ● Designed and built a Star Wars-inspired BB-8-style spherical robot supporting toggleable Bluetooth teleoperation and autonomous vision-based navigation through a distributed Raspberry Pi/ESP32 control architecture. ● Implemented a MobileNet-SSD + KCF perception pipeline on Raspberry Pi 3B+ , using neural-network detections to initialize and periodically correct lightweight tracking for real-time person following. ● Built Wi-Fi/UDP communication from the vision system to the ESP32 for normalized steering commands, motor mixing, PWM control, IMU feedback, and communication failsafes. Reaction Wheel Attitude Control | Controls, State estimation, Dynamics ● Designed and manufactured a single-axis reaction-wheel platform using an ESP32, MPU6050, motor driver, and brushed DC motor to study spacecraft attitude control . ● Implemented a 200 Hz PID attitude-control loop using Kalman-filtered IMU feedback demonstrating control to ±0.7 rad.
